I. Preamble to The Protectors Code of Honour
As Protectors, we strive to better ourselves and be seen as shining examples to all around us. Therefore, we accept this Code of Conduct as a way to live our lives, and vow that we will not violate The Code, under penalty of our higher conscience. Should we break this code, whether purposely or not, we know that we are forgiven. However, all Protectors stand forever in The Shadow of Truth. The only ones who are fooled are those who live in denial. If you break any part of this Code of Honour, learn from your weaknesses and break the Code no more. Remember, the most powerful weapons a Protector possesses are The Shields of The Seven Virtues.

II. The Shields of The Seven Virtues

As true Protectors we recognize the seven shields of virtue to be our greatest weapon against the Seven Dragons of De-Vices and other negative forces in the world. We vow to honour and live by The Seven Shields of Virtue:
Benevolence, Faith, Humility, Integrity, Loyalty, Mercy and Patience.

We must shield ourselves with these virtues, for only then will we be worthy to know unconditional love. We acknowledge that without The Seven Shields of Virtue, The Order of Protectors would become meaningless and The Seven Dragons of De-Vices and Evil would choke the life breath from the world.

III. The Protector's Code of Honour

As Protectors we hereby vow to live by this Code of Honour for the reasons set forth in this document.

A. Protectors are benevolent.
I. We are charitable and wish to do good for others. Our primary focus is to teach others to stay safe from negative influences that will destroy their innocence.
II. We promote good will and fellowship.

B. Protectors are faithful.
I. We are confident in the spirit of the Order of Protectors and trust in its humanitarian mission.
II. Faith is a belief not based on proof. It is the heartfelt knowing or truth that good or bad deeds are all you take with you when you leave this world. So make each deed count.

C. Protectors are humble.
I. We are modest as regards our own importance and submit to the greater good of humanity. Humility is knowing one's place and making the best of it.
II. We are proud but not arrogant and keep an open heart and mind to the opinion of others. However, we challenge unenlightened authority.

D. Protectors have Integrity.
I. We adhere to the moral and ethical principles of The Order of Protectors by acting honorably and ensuring a soundness of character.
II. We are honest in our dealings with others and serve as role models and mentors to them.

E. Protectors are Loyal.
I. We must be loyal to our families, friends and fellow Protectors. We must stand together in strength knowing that if we are weak, we weaken the armor of the whole and the innocent will suffer.
II. Only united in loyalty can we defeat the onslaught of evil that plagues humanity.

F. Protectors are Merciful.
I. We are compassionate towards others even in their defeat. We love and embrace evildoers for only then will they know unconditional love.
II. If we must judge, we must also forgive.

G. Protectors are Patient.
I. We must understand that it could take lifetimes to make a difference but it can only happen if we give our Quest proper time and place. Don't rush, just persevere. If something stands in your way, go around it.
II. We must try not to complain, just maintain the tenacity not to quit. Protectors must try to avoid physical violence as much as possible. Any animal can be violent or savage. Protectors must live by a higher caliber - Excalibur -of excellence. We must solve our problems through reasoning, not fighting. However, if we see the defenseless whether it be man, woman or child under attack, we must stop the violence by any means available. Remember: Love is the culmination of all the virtues.

IV. The Seven Dragons of De-Vices

The basis to all past and present negativity is FEAR which spawns hate. In the myth of Pandaora's Box, a curious woman opens a box and releases plagues onto the world. The plagues were really seven great dragons (or passions) out of control that humankind was not ready to comprehend. These dragons may be called De-Vices of Evil and they are known by the names:
Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Rage, Sloth.

A. The Dragon of Envy makes you jealous of others and their achievements. This monster is possessive and does not love, but views everything as his personal property.

B. The Dragon of Gluttony fools you into believing you need to gorge yourself on food or drink so that the supply greatly exceeds your needs. The same holds true when we blame ourselves excessively, i.e., a glutton for punishment.

C. The Dragon of Greed makes you feel you need to have all the wealth of the world. No matter how much you have, it is not enough. He fools you into thinking that you need more than your fair share of the abundance of life.

D. The Dragon of Lust creates a passionate, overwhelming desire for excess like the out of control passion to destroy.

E. The Dragon of Pride exaggerates an individual's importance which leads to arrogant behavior. To be proud of oneself builds self-esteem however this dragon overinflates ones' ego. Lighten up! Don't take yourself so seriously or your innocence will suffer.

F. The Dragon of Rage blinds individuals to violent actions and robs them of reason. Their main diet is fear and anger. If you feel this dragon gnawing, walk away from people until you have overcome your fury.

G. The Dragon of Sloth is a lazy beast. He is the one that will try to pull most Protectors from their sworn quest to protect the innocent. He will convince you that you have done more than enough and no one has done as much as you. If the truth be known, a Protector is only as good as their next good deed. You can never do enough. Know that and you know the all.

Since the beginning of reason when these dragons were released, Protectors have quested together to learn why HOPE remained in the box. Some say it was the HOPE that humans would someday learn how to conquer the Dragons of De-Vice. As we look at our world, it is easy to see that someday has not arrived. Instead we are using these dragons to solve our problems thus creating many more problems for ourselves. Maybe the HOPE in the box is an acronym representing H - Help, O- Open, P - People's, E - Eyes through performances of knightly deeds and shining examples.

I, The First Knight, personally believe that if hope was a virtue, it would not have been placed in The Box. When I look at the world I see people full of hope. They are hoping for this or that to happen, but it seldom ever does. Why? Because hoping lacks physical action. Hope was in the box because it has a tendency to lead to hopelessness. It is more a crutch than a helpful action. People who hope are usually waiting for others to solve their problems. If you hear the call to strap on the armor and to be a Protector, do it now. Remember, there are a lot of people in this world hoping that we win.

Forever Your Servant,
The First Knight
